Stuart A. Turow, specializes in real estate tax appeals on large commercial properties. He has extensive experience handling complex cases before the D.C. Office of Tax & Revenue, the D.C. Board of Real Property Assessment Appeals and the Tax Division of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Prior to specializing in real estate tax matters, Mr. Turow practiced in the field of land use and related litigation in the District of Columbia. This background has proved invaluable, as he has been able to couple his prior zoning experience with his litigation skills to obtain significant reductions for his clients in real estate tax appeal cases involving major office buildings, hotels, industrial properties and development sites.

Specialization:

Mr. Turow holds a B.S. with honors in Finance from the University of Delaware and a J.D. from the University of Bridgeport School of Law, where he served as the Lead Articles Editor for the Law Review. He is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and Maryland and a member of the Tax and Imposition Committee of the D.C. Building Industry Association (DCBIA). Mr. Turow is a frequent contributor to the DCBIA Pipeline publication on real property tax matters. In addition, he has presented numerous seminars on real estate tax valuation and management.

Mr. Turow is also an active member of the American Property Tax Counsel (“APTC”), an affiliation of leading property tax lawyers and law firms in the United States and Canada.
