Property Tax Relief for Wildfire Victims

Support, Guidance, and Advocacy When You Need It Most

While not all of us have experienced direct damage from the recent wildfires, we know that the impact reaches far beyond the flames. Our hearts are with every individual, family, and business affected by this devastation.

If you or your property have been directly impacted by wildfire damage, property tax relief may be available—and we’re here to help.

There are two key forms to be aware of:

1. Reassessment of Property Damaged or Destroyed by Misfortune or Calamity

This form is used to report the physical loss or damage of property. Filing it allows the County Assessor to temporarily reduce your property’s assessed value to reflect the loss.

2. Property Tax Deferral Application

This form allows for the deferral of your next property tax installment—currently the second installment due February 1 (delinquent April 10). Taxpayers must file a new deferral application for each installment by its respective delinquency date.

We’re Here to Help

Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re committed to supporting you during this time and will do everything we can to help ease the financial burden of recovery.
